Le Mas de Fournery - Le Mas de Baraud
Gîtes de charme in Southern Ardèche
Le Mas de Fournery
Le Mas de Fournery offers the tranquility of an isolated site, as well as a extraordinary panoramic view on the surrounding hills. The oldest parts of this large traditional farm (such as the furnace that gave the site its name) date from the the XVIth century. Its large porch opens on a partly covered flowery central court. To the left, Sophie's apartments. At the end, the former l'ancienne magnanerie (silk culture) whit today hosts one spacious and comfortable gîte.
The garden of the Mas de Fournery, its long terrace and its swimming pool, facing south, towers above the landscape and allows to admire the sunrise as well as the spectacular sunset on the hills. In the winter, in dry weather, we can distinctly see the Mont Ventoux to the East and to the West, some far away snow-covered rock formations. During all seasons, when the weather is clear, the exceptional purity of the air and the absence of light pollution allow astronomy lovers to contemplate the milky way with an astonishing precision.
On site, you can visit the beautiful vaulted cellar and taste Jérôme Jouret's nature wines. Jérôme is a young wine grower based in Villeneuve-de-Berg.
Warning, acces by a gravel road on 1.5km, between the route de Saint-Andéol-de-Berg and the entrance of the property.
